Where did the PhoneidoS name come from?
pho-nos
from pho¯né: ‘sound,voice’]. In several compound words of Modern Age, it represents the first or second element (eg. phonogram, microphone); in some adjectives (generally used as a noun) it can be found as the second element and means: ‘he who speaks a given language’ (eg. Anglophone, Francophone…).
êidos
‘aspect, shape, idea’]. It constitutes the basis for current words such as eidomatics: which comes from the acronym of eidos which means, in Greek, image or idea, and the suffix of informatics, to convey the connotation of an interdisciplinary area, crossing both image processing, computer graphics, vision and cognitive aspects of computer imaging.
What is GST?
GST - Gruppo Soluzioni Tecnologiche was founded in 1994 by a group of companies in Trento (Italy), operating in the Electronic Automation and Information Technology sectors, with the purpose to set up the sale of technologies developed by the Institute for Scientific and Technological Research (ITC-IRST) of Trento in the field of speech recognition.
Over the years, the scope and the offering of GST has expanded by using the most diffused speech recognition engines.
At present GST maintains a close relationship with ITC-IRST particularly in the field of Special Projects and is able to furnish software applications and advanced services using the best speech recognition technologies available on international markets.
